The ACME Hydraulic Boom Reel Model BR-8×16-HMT is a Trailerized for mobility (with 2-5/16” Bull Dog coupler or optional Pintle Ring coupler) and capable of holding up to 2,000 feet of response boom. This towable package allows the boom to be deployed and or retrieved anywhere that is vehicle and trailer accessible. The spool assembly is constructed of marine-grade aluminum alloy. The reel base and trailer are designed as one single unit. The reel base has the trailer tongue, fenders, and axles incorporated into this single skid. Extendable stabilizer legs (2 each) are also integrated into the skid. The reel base/trailer is constructed of mild steel and then hot-dip galvanized to prevent corrosion. The galvanizing process protects the steel frame from corrosion both inside and out, whereas paint can only coat the outside of pipe and square tube structures. Mounted on the trailer along with the reel spool is a Tier 4 final, diesel engine-driven hydraulic power pack with electric start and recoil starter back-up. The boom reel controls are located at the rear of the trailer and can be rotated to operate the reel from either the left or right side of the reel. Boom reel design conforms to BRS-2r11.
