ACME In Action: Recent Oklahoma Oil Spill Responses

Recently, ACME Environmental has proven its readiness and reliability with multiple emergency oil spill responses across Oklahoma, all within the past month. From Western, Eastern, and Southern Oklahoma, ACME was called into action for three different incidents, each demanding rapid mobilization, specialized equipment, and tailored cleanup strategies to safeguard the environment and surrounding communities. These responses highlight ACME’s ability to adapt to diverse challenges, whether it’s containing hazardous fluids, remediating contaminated soil, or restoring worksites back to safe operation. No matter the location or scale, ACME continues to stand as a trusted partner for effective oil spill response.

ACME In Action: Northern Oklahoma Oil Spill

On June 2nd, 2023, ACME Environmental responded to an oil spill that had severely impacted a creek and several surrounding properties in Northern Oklahoma. The spill originated from an area upstream of Nine mile-creek, where oil-contaminated soil was being dumped at a dump site by an environmental waste disposal company. Due to a high amount of heavy rainfall in the area, the weight of the contaminated soil, approximating 3,000 barrels, caused the barriers in place at this facility to fail. This ended in the integrity of the barriers becoming weakened, causing the sides to blow out. Consequently, the waste traveled downstream roughly six miles, impacting three properties off-site of the dump site, impacting farmlands near houses, destroying culverts, and damaging roads along the creek. In conclusion, this required comprehensive remediation efforts due to environmental and regulatory concerns.

Swift Water Deployment Training with ACME | Winter 2020

On November 30 and December 1, 2020, ACME Environmental’s Emergency Response team took part in a two-day swift water containment boom deployment training on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma.
