2024 Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) Meeting and Conference

Introduction

ACME Environmental is proud to sponsor the 2024 Spill Control Association of America (SCAA) annual meeting on July 31-August 1 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This year’s event marks SCAA’s 51st year of representing the interests and voices of all groups in the emergency spill response industry. Founded in 1973, this national organization has been a prominent influence of the industry’s best practices and is fully committed to educating, advocating, and engaging with industry clients, as well as state and government entities involved in emergency spill response. This annual meeting is taking place at the Ann Arbor Marriot Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest, which is surrounded by breathtaking views of Ford Lake and Eagle Crest Gold Course’s 18-hole championship course. About the Event

By attending this annual meeting, you will have the opportunity to network with emergency responders, manufacturers, and environmental firms around the world. This annual meeting serves as a great opportunity to hear from United States Coast Guard (USCG) representatives about what capabilities and roles they have at the nearby Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL). These representatives are sent from the Great Lakes Oil Spill Center of Expertise (GLCOE), a Congressionally mandated center for industry-leading technology development and research. We are excited to see you there, if you are interested, register here!

ACME Environmental’s Involvement

ACME Environmental is an Annual and Platinum event sponsor, meaning we have great responsibility with SCAA. We have committed ourselves to representing the interests and voices of all emergency response organizations, alongside SCAA. For instance, our Head Director of Marketing and Sales is leading a panel at this year’s meeting and is a current Committee Chair. Also, our CEO and President, a former President of SCAA, doing his part in educating, advocating, and engaging with the community on behalf of SCAA. Our involvement in the spill containment industry predates SCAA by 7 years and ACME has been involved with SCAA since its founding year. We have been an industry leader since 1967, and a supporter of the benefits and exposure SCAA provides to spill response contractors, consultants, distributors, manufacturers, governments and training institutions, instructors, and relevant corporations.

ACME Environmental understands the importance of staying up to date on the latest industry standards and regulations. We are honored to share the same practices as other SCAA entities, contributing to uniting emergency response organizations around the world. By doing so, exposure to the work being accomplished by emergency response organizations is reaching across nations, creating a positive outlook for the future.
